A codex, not a clinic.
Vital Codex exists to bridge four things that are usually kept apart: complex biology, practical understanding, self-directed health literacy, and long-term vitality.
What we believe
Modern health information tends to fail in one of two directions. Popular wellness content is readable but rarely rigorous. Primary literature is rigorous but rarely readable. Vital Codex is our attempt at a third path: a knowledge base written the way we would want to learn — clear on the surface, dense underneath.
We think of the site as a codex because the goal is a durable, cross-referenced body of knowledge. Each article is written to still be useful five years from now, not to catch a trend.
We do not sell supplements. We do not run affiliate roundups. Any product we recommend in the future will be recommended because it is the right tool, not because it pays a commission.
Editorial standards
- Evidence first. We cite primary literature where it exists, and we say so plainly when it doesn't.
- Two tiers, always. Every major article carries a Tier 1 primer for general readers and a Tier 2 deep dive for readers who want the mechanism.
- No miracle claims. If an intervention has a small effect, we say small. If a result hasn't replicated, we say so.
- Education, not medicine. Nothing on this site is medical advice. We help you ask better questions of the people who can give it.
A note on who this is for
Vital Codex is written for adults who want to understand their own biology — whether you're new to metabolic health, deep into your own experimentation, or somewhere in between. Both entry points are welcome. The Tier system exists so neither has to compromise.
